It will be nice to be back
Heading down again in April(5th-9th). I miss the pier and the beach life. Hopefully the water will have warmed up enough for the Spanish and Kings to come in, but if not I might try my luck with some Sheepheads.
My luck, of course, will be like this past year. Sheepheads all around until I get there, and then none to be found if you aren't snatching.
What would be a good third alternative if that is the case? Sea Trout? Pompino?

The first of April is one of my favorite times to fish because of all of the choices. Check the archives for catches, because that's one of the best indicators of what to expect. I'm fishing for spanish, pompano, and slot reds, in addition to sheepshead, when the first week of April rolls around.

Yeah, I keep an eye on the fishing reports and such. I was looking for a "in general". I wouldn't mind trying some reds. Personally I just want some fresh seafood haha. I'd prefer to catch it myself as opposed to taking it from someone else though. More fun that way

As a fyi. I do intend to introduce myself this time around. I noticed a couple of you guys the last couple of times I have come down. Some, I believe I talked to and got a couple of tips on what baitfish is good and what isn't so great.
If I see a flag, I may very well come say hi (assuming I can figure out who the flag belongs too).
having trouble finding bull minnows. can anybody point me to somewhere in the gulf shores/orange beach area or close? thanks
