Increases in Commercial and Recreational License Fees

Beginning September 14, 2015, the following licenses will have a fee increase (license description and new fee amount):
Tarpon Tag - $60
Resident Annual Spearfishing License - $6
Nonresident Seven Day Spearfishing License - $6
Nonresident Annual Spearfishing License - $9
Resident Live Saltwater Bait Dealers License (two live bait catcher boats and one transport truck) - $105
Nonresident Live Saltwater Bait Dealers License (two live bait catcher boats and one transport truck) - $210
Resident Live Saltwater Bait Dealers License (two live bait catcher boats and two transport trucks) - $420
Resident Commercial Oyster Catcher License - $30
Nonresident Commercial Oyster Catcher License - $60
Resident Oyster Dredge License - $30
Nonresident Oyster Dredge License - $60
Recreational Shrimp Boat License - $18
Nonresident Recreational Shrimp Boat License (nonreciprocal state) - $36
Resident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (under 30 feet in length) - $60
Resident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (30 to 45 feet in length) - $90
Resident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (over 45 feet in length) - $120
Nonresident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (under 30 feet in length; nonreciprocal state) - $120
Nonresident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (30 to 45 feet in length; nonreciprocal state) - $180
Nonresident Commercial Shrimp Boat License (under 45 feet in length; nonreciprocal state) - $240
Resident Commercial Party Boat (up to 6 passengers) - $240
Resident Commercial Party Boat (7 to 25 passengers) - $360
Resident Commercial Party Boat (more than 25 passengers) - $600
Nonresident Commercial Party Boat (up to 6 passengers) - $480
Nonresident Commercial Party Boat (7 to 25 passengers) - $720
Nonresident Commercial Party Boat (more than 25 passengers) - $1,200
Resident Commercial Saltwater Fishing License - $120
Nonresident Commercial Saltwater Fishing License - $240
Resident Commercial Saltwater Net or Seine Permit - $1,800
Additional fee to be added to nonresident commercial saltwater net or seine permit when taking Roe Mullet and Spanish Mackerel - $3,600
Resident Recreational Gill Net License - $60
Nonresident Recreational Gill Net License - 120
Resident Crab Catcher's License - $60
Nonresident Crab Catcher's License - $120
Resident Seafood Dealer License - $240
Nonresident Seafood Dealer License (except where nonresident state charge Alabama residents in excess of $400 for the activity, in which case it shall be the amount the other state charges) - $480
Resident and Nonresident Seafood Dealer Vehicle License - $120
Permit for Artificial Reef Construction - $30

Well.... At least my resident SW/FW and All Game licenses don't increase.
Commercial licenses still seem pretty inexpensive to me.Ragnar Benson:

David, I received an email from Alabama Wildlife telling me I can renew my license starting Aug.25, does it mean if I do it earlier I won't get hit by the price increase? Or should say, how much are they going far on these to include individual fishing licenses? Thanks for the info btw.

Yes, if your specific license type is on that list, buy before the new fees go into effect.
A regular resident fishing license is not on that list.Ragnar Benson:
