Another Bird Entanglement
Orange Beach Wildlife Center and Management Program
Posted this on their fb page:
"This poor Great Blue Heron was all tangled up in fishing line. We were fortunately able to get the line off before it caused permanent damage. We put the heron in our yard and he/she immediately flew up to the roof of one of our enclosures and enjoyed the view before taking off. Most herons and shore birds who get tangled in fishing line are not this lucky. Please dispose of your fishing line properly and refrain from feeding native wildlife, it makes them habituated to people/fishermen increasing the chance for them to get tangled."
Call 844-303-WILD to report a shorebird entangled in fishing line.
