Fish ID
Anybody knows what is the name of this fish? It was about 12" long and 6-7" wide with pectoral fins (forgot to take photo) looked more like of legs than fins. It was hooked by a guy fishing for flounder on a sit rig. I released this fish and it swim to the pylons and stick there for a while.

I'm pretty sure it's a Shortnose batfish Ogcocephalus nasutus

I dont think that is an oyster toadfish. Fins and eyes are wrong. I'll see what I can find out from DISL.

Its a Batfish (Ogcocephalus sp.). Word from DISL is: "A strange looking fish, but not especially rare."
