I think it is greedy that red snapper are over protected, they are not even native to the northern gulf. Its a shame that they get more care than our native fishes. Its all a big commercial

HUH????
Red Snapper were caught on the trysler grounds and the hard bottoms right off P'Cola way back in the 1800's.
They are native to every part of the Gulf that has natural hard bottom reefs.

It's kind of like most problems, it's not Joe Blow that's depleting the resource or endangering it.

I think it's a problem or lack of a problem that's poorly managed. And on the other hand, imagine if it wasn't managed at all.

Until they start looking out for the rec fisherman, and crack down on the root cause, well contintue to have these problems. Not to mention AJ and Grouper, more regs coming on them too!

Alabama has very little natural reefs. i misspoke, they are not native in Alabama waters and they are definitely overpopulated and get so much protection because of their commercial value. It does give charter fishermen a job, but why not put that much scientific effort into all game fish. Not overprotect them, but research
