It's hard to believe LYs strike a red ribbon and get entangled in the mesh webbing surrounding it as well!

But yeah, Bubble Rigs work well to locate fish even when they aren't visible striking the surface.
I use one from the beach sometimes to determine if ladyfish are present before 'wasting' live shrimp in that spot ;-)

Was wondering has anybody thought about gluing there straw onto the hook. might possibly keep line from getting frayed.
Haven't considered that but did make some rigs last night with about 2 1/2" of Malin wire hidden under the straw to see if it'll help with frayed line. Just hope it doesn't affect the action or presentation too much. Also may risk a shark break entire rig but we will see. Plan to hit the pier bout 430/5 ish in the morning.
I was thinking of putting shoe goo or something flexible inside the straw as it's slid up on the hook.
