Possible picnic or tourney Saturday?
I know it's Hangout Fest weekend but (if anyone is brave enough to fight the crazies) I was wondering if anyone would be interested in putting on a small tournament or doing another pier picnic...
Tourney could be more than one category...
We could do Spanish, king, and one other if anyone can think of a third target fish.
$10 a person per category?Genesis 1:26
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea..."

i think we should of planned it earlier like a couple days ago plus you got to get permission from pier staff. and has to be funded but i would do it.

I was unaware of any "funding" from any of the previous ones we've had...Seemed to me we just gave our money to the person who organized it and whoever won got the money.

You need to make sure it is OK with the park ranger and pier manager.
Make sure it is clear that anything you do is in no way associated with this forum and admins, we always prearrange the picnics months in advance. We don't do tourneys unless it is a benefit.
A pay to enter tourney could be a problem, unless it is a benefit for a good cause.
In the past there were a few tourneys with no entry fee, and all the prizes were supplied by the person(s) putting on the tourney.
Don't forget. it is a state owned/public pier.

Ok, maybe I just perceived things incorrectly...
As far as the picnic goes...just throwing a hypothetical out there...if several people who brought food on the pier decided, randomly, to share said food with one another would that be viewed as a picnic? Would those individuals be in trouble for doing so and not running it by pier management?Genesis 1:26

That is quite obvious. It is tournaments that the pier needs or wants prior knowledge of to either allow or reject permission.

The reason why the forum arranges the picnic with the pier months in advance is because of the magnitude of the picnic and the help and support needed from the pier staff to pull it off.

Back in the day we used to have a Guy out there form little tournaments and month long "Inshore slam " it gave you something to do and a little extra cash in hand. But if you start a pot tourney than it has to be for a greater cause and picnic is always a great idea but talk to Theresa she'll prob give permission or I'll talk to her .
Tom, we really enjoyed hearing you two tonight at Post 44. We have heard you before at the Elks Club, but you were in particularly good voice tonight. That was as fine a rendition of "You Were...
