Bubble Tube Bling
There are so many comments about the Spanish slashing swivels or anything that shines, has anyone ever added glitter to bubble rig tubes or straws? I'm sure their teeth would take a toll pretty quickly, but that's OK. I just glued some glitter to a couple straws and a short piece of airline; seems like it will work out OK. Also tied a couple trebles with tinsel, like a short skirt. Thinking it would be nice to 'encourage' them a bit more on a slow day.

Wrap in tin foil! Thats my idea
When they slash the swivel, Switch to a 1/2 oz spoon.

Tin foil ! , good idea, I've got plenty on my hat I can use

I just found the same thread/topic from last July..........sorry!

Some days a bare gold hook pulled behind a bubble would suffice to catch a limit in 30 minutes.
But on rare days they only want a purple straw cut exactly 1.35" long retrieved at 2mph with a 2 second pause every 10'. But those days are rare, luckily.
I keep McDee's, red and green straws, spec rigs, DOA-style shrimp and clark spoons in my "bubble rig box". That usually covers it.
If the axe handles are around, a small crankbait can be the ticket.

Do you pre-cut your straws to various sizes? I've read several threads about using crappie jigs at times. Around here, that generally means 2 inches or less for tube jigs anyway. Maybe I should drop a few whole straws in my box and forget about it.
-
Both, I have pre-cut and some whole ones laying around.

They make a Flashy tape for lure making with different patterns, Also you can go to your local hardware store and pick up this very flashy duct tape stuff used for A/C ducts but WARNING don't get it stuck to you! It can rip your skin! Kings will have a hard time getting it off.

The straws with the ribbons (especially the red head) look the best. All good looking!
