Terminal Tackle and Baits for fishing from the pier
Hi.....I need some help with what sort of terminal tackle to use and the rigging for pier fishing. Also, what baits are used for the rigs? Will pick the stuff up at local bait shops in Gulf Shores. I should be in Gulf Shores for the last half of January. Thanks a bunch, ERO

Wanting to target anything specific or just anything that pulls line?
Give a googan a king, and he can eat for a day. But teach a googan how to kingfish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years

Anything that bites. I come from freshwater lakes and am interested in learning about the fish you have in the Gulf Shores area. Thanks

Stop at J&M tackle, tell them what you want to fish for and where, they will outfit you.

Close to the each either dropper rigs or Carolina rig with #4 or 6 mosquito hooks.. Anywhere from 1/2-4 ounces of lead

like peaches said. Carolina rig with a #4 or 6 single hook with a piece of fresh dead peeled shrimp will catch just about everything that swims. Go out to the pier and observe and just mimic what others are doing

This Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for an abundant fishery and a magnificent pier, from which to access that fishery. I'm thankful for the morning view of the sunrise and what a spectacular view it is...
Happy Thanksgiving!
