Re: dam quick 330n
Define "rainbow trout rod"; there are a lot of variations in length and stiffness. The 300 would be sufficient for most of the smaller fish from the pier. Line capacity makes it difficult to work from a pier using "trout size" reels smaller than the 300.

Re: dam quick 330n
the 300 has different spools, ive seen kings caught on mitchell 300 but i bought a couple of mitchell 300s and one had a fat spool as i call them and the other one one was skinny and the skinny one could definitely handle reds i caught some with it... if this helps i dont know

Re: dam quick 330n
I've picked up a couple dam quick reels....the gearing is to slow for me, and not sure how good the drags are...always used Mitchell 300 up here back in the day....but have upgraded to newer model equipment....a friend still fishes with his 300 and does good....I like a little faster retrieve on my reels for some odd reason but the deep spool 300 will hold some line on it.

Re: dam quick 330n
For redfish, if you need more line than the shallow spool 300 holds, you aren't going to do much better with a deep spool.
