Damn,…ya’ll are a bunch of cyborg’s out there with all that metal Haha.
Modern science is absolutely fantastic at fixing broken things these days ain’t it? If it’d been 1850 the prospects would be wildly different,…Modern wonders never cease to amaze me.
Glad to hear you’re on the mend.

Well I see the Orthopedic Surgeon today actually and hopefully get the staples out. Whether that means a regular cast or boot type stabilizer remains to be seen.

Best of luck Allen. I had fractured my forearm last year, now got a mean set of plate + screws in it..all we can do is try to adapt and adjust to our new conditions. Prayers for ya.

Well due to scheduling issues my ride had to cancel Wednesday. So I scheduled and booked a ride on Thursday with Z-trip for Friday at 12:30 p.m. but they failed to show up and I missed my appt. I spoke with the Doc's office and will try to reschedule Monday.
Ztrip was booked 24 hours in advance and yet their business model apparently does not "assign" drivers to booked trips but allows them to pick and choose which ones they want at will. So with my being out in West Pensacola near Perdido Key no one wanted to drive out that far. The fare was about $70 one way and a tip is appreciated.
So the continuing saga of the Curse of Pensacola Beach Pier is ongoing! lol

Well I finally got in to see the doc and had my staples removed. Now I am in a boot but still non weight bearing for a few more weeks. But now that May is over hopefully I am on a better path.
Not being dramatic but I almost died on the 5-25-2022. I apparently undercooked some chicken and got campylobacter food poisoning. Apparently due to a previous old ulcer my body decided it wanted to bleed and I started passing black stool (great subject I know) anyway along with all the other symptoms associated with blood loss. I started feeling slightly better and the home nurse came by to check on me when I started going into shock. I remember being woken by a gorilla rubbing his knuckles into my sternum in the ambulance. That happened 2x and they diverted to closest ER to stabilize me. I got 1 unit of blood there and several saline IV's and then transported directly to ICU at West FL Hospital. Endoscopy revealed a small ulcer and upper irritation but no active bleeding. But that night my hemoglobin dropped to 5.2 and I got 3 more units of blood before I stabilized. After I started eating my hemoglobin stabilized enough for me to come home 6-1-2022.
Hopefully, knock on wood I will make it to fish by the end of July under my own power!

Dammit man, there ain't no luck like bad luck.

That had to be scary for you. I've had a couple of ambulance rides and they aren't enjoyable. Too noisy.
Very glad that you're on the mend. We need you back on the pier.
