Destin Area Fishing?
Hey Guys,
I love and am partial to the GS/OBA area. However, I am being forced to Destin this week with the inlaws. I always surf fish the state park entrance closer to the pier and catch my pomp limit, and a few other fish. Does anyone surf fish in Destin area? It is soooo crowded there. Appreciate the advice.

Re: Destin Area Fishing?
LOL!
I can think of many much worse "forced" places to be in than Destin ;) :D
Maybe C2 (Charlie) will post up, or you might send him a PM or email.
I have read plenty of reports of pompano from the east jetty in Destin, but most were earlier in the spring. Still that could be your 'best bet'.
They are getting some at the Okaloosa Island Pier.
There are good folks on PPF that fish that area that may can help...

And Pensacola Fishing Forum may have someone who can help?

What about these guys? (Charlie is there too ;-)

Re: Destin Area Fishing?
Jetties are ok if you wanna walk it, I rather get live bait, go under destin bridge, head left towards the coast guard station freelining live pinfish, fingermullet, or shrimp casting at grass beds. You also have OIP, can fish under west end of brooks bridge with live bait there too. If you go under brooks bridge and follow the street to the park can fish the boat docks there at night or the landing. All decent places for your basic fishing needs. Getting a hook wet and possible line pull. Used to be able to get to the beach on c30a before you make the bend was a public walkway dont know if still there. But my best answer would be go to MS Pats baitshop at the foot of brooks bridge and ask her for an update! 8)
