Hey y'all. I'll be coming down to GS for 9 days in early August with my family. I am an avid fisherman here in Austin,Tx and fish 5 days a week. I've been wondering where are the best places to fish and what is biting around this time. If anybody is interested I would love to have a buddy to go kayak fish with for safety and to show me the ropes as I'm brand new to the place (I will gladly buy you lunch.) Let me know what y'all think is best and thank you so much for the help!

Hi there, I'm gonna be in Gulf Shores for a week, from august 6-13. I'm a kayak fishing dude in Oklahoma, never been out on the salt, but would love to give it a shot. I'd love to kayak fish BTB, so if ya hear of any charters, let me know. I'm thinking of doing a party boat out of OB or maybe taking the fam out on a 4 hour charter.
Only tiny point for inland kayakers is that a sit-on-top kayak is valuable for safety in the ocean; a sit-in kayak is ok for inshore water. I am sure the more experienced kayakers will chime in.
If this is the first time in salt. Look up information on Kayak fishing. Salt can be a blast but it can also get dangerous real quick. Check out MBKFA of FB or gulfcoastkayaking fishing.com but have lots of information and safety.
Depending on where you are staying, Little Lagoon offers an excellent opportunity for yackers. Early morning, and late evening - puppy drum and big trout can be found near lighted docks and creek inlets. The water is usually calm, and boat traffic is minamal. Fish near the lagoon pass - something will bite. You can park at the pass and it's an easy carry to the water.
