Family coming to fish in September..have some questions
Have some questions for our 6 day fishing quest in mid September..1.What kind of fish can we expect to catch from the surf and pier at that time?Kings?Spanish?..2.We are getting a place 3miles west of hwy 59 in between the ocean and lagoon.Any good fishing in the lagoon? If so,what kind of fish?..3.Last but not least,I heard you can't(by law) catch shark off the pier, can you catch shark from the surf legally? Thanks to any who respond!

i dont know much exactly on number one but i have fished the west side of 59 on the beach and lagoon and (while i didnt know what i was doing) i have seen plenty of good eating fish caught and learned some tricks most of them on here. the last one no it is not "legal" to target sharks from the beach in Gulf Shores or the pier. there are others that can explain the finer points of the law about shark fishing to you but i know its a no no in gulf shores

Thanks guys.Any suggestions on what rigs(other than fly rods) to use in the lagoons? We have a dock on the back of our place that leads prob 40 ft out into the water.Would love to catch fish from there.Should I fish on bottom?Carolina rig?Are there Spanish in the lagoon?
