LYs are a great bait for almost anything swimming around the pier.
The smaller ones are great bait for those lock jawed spotted b@st@rds in the skinny water, and Spanish too.
Normal to Grande are awesome for Kings, Reds, Jacks and of course the ubiquitous sharks.
Dang near everything preys on them.
Other good baits to be found around the pier at times are Spanish Sardines & Cigar Minnows, and less desirable but having their uses are the much maligned Hardtails, Leather Jackets & Crazyfish.
Want a better chance at those Specks go Light/Ultra Light with nothing but a small hook.
No weight, no swivel... Nada.
And then spend endless hours cussing them till the one magical minute out of the day when one of them might eat something, and you bait is the equivalent of a winning PowerBall ticket.
Haha thanks man say I seen u there with son Nathaniel I think that was his name and that awesome I didn't know kings would take after them
