I understand they are separate proposals that will run concurrently beginning next fall.
The biological assessment for the pier repair has also been approved and passed on the USACoE for permitting.
But the Feds will not allow water work (like dredging or piling work) be done during "turtle nesting season" (May through November).
Figures. I hate turtles.
Good thing turtle nesting season wasn''t in on the build of the Pier it wouldn't have ever opened up.

I would think (hope?) that only applies to work below the waterline. If they get the framework in place I can't see them not working on the superstructure. After all, they did the remodel in the summertime and "finished" on the day Sally hit in September (19th?).Quote:

When they restore the beach do they add sand on top of whats already there or are they making the beach wider? Do they pump it in from the gulf then level it with dozers or haul it from somewhere?
