Fish Cleaning

I'm leaving tomorrow night to come down for a long weekend......a little time in GS is better than none at all. I have carefully cleaned fish in rented condos when not fishing the pier but we are staying in a hotel since it's a short trip. Is there any place around Gulf Shores, Orange Beach or Fort Morgan that has a fish cleaning table or just somewhere that is legal to clean fish? If I'm fishing the beach I can always pay to go on the pier but was just wondering if there were any other options. This may be a mute point if I don't catch anything but I'm going to think positive....for now. Thanks

You could pay the $2 and do it on the pier.

That's what I will probably do. I didn't know if they'd charge the walk on price or the full rate.

They charge the 'walk on rate' unless you bring rods ;-)

Try some of the marinas, but they don't like the carcasses to be discarded there in the water or in cans.

The walk on rate is $3. It was raised in the spring. $4 for as many trips as you like all day. Or, if your a veteran, bring proof and it's free!

If you are out on fort morgan, the fort morgan marina has a cleaning table.

It cost me $3 today.

Sorry I did not know the fee went up.

I still think that $3 is a great bargain, as opposed to having to clean fish in a motel room!

The reason for the fee increase was so the state could provide health insurance under Obamacare to its employees who were not covered. The fee was a $1 increase across the board, so instead of $2, it's $3 for walk ons and instead of $360 annually, it's $361. Don't know how they came up with that hair brained formula!
