I drove out to Johnsons beach a little while ago and catfish and mullet are washed up. What a d$%^ shame.
Does anyone know what's causing this? I'm suspecting red tide. Only thing I can think of off hand.
Yes, its red tide. I just came out of a meeting with AL Health Dept. and the cell counts per liter are off the charts off Perdido Key.
I am back in the meeting this morning, will give y'all an update if ADPH or MRD has any news. Overall, worst red tide event in AL history, I believe. But this cold front may break it up. Lets hope so.
Red tide started around Panama City area a month or 2 ago. Think all up the west side of Florida has had it.
this is my first post, but how long do these red tide events usually take to dissipate? I was planning a trip to gulf shores to fish for whatever was biting from christmas through new years, but I'm starting to look at other options due to the reports of red tide and fish kill.
Good Question. I cant remember having it this late in the season. Its usually a summer warm water thing I thought.
