We will also be down that week. It will be time to get flexible. We were all set for surf fishing. May have to try the Bays, or the passes, and go to the pier. Sprung a little change loose from the dust protector under the couch and booked a trip to the oil rigs. If the fishing is really off, I will have some very costly naps while we are there. So it goes.
It all depends on how strong it gets and where the center comes ashore.
Right now estimates are between tropical force to Cat 2 hurricane anywhere from mouth of Miss River to the Florida Big Bend...
Couple of years ago I was down and two days after a almost hurricane came ashore we had an invasion of sheep head in the thousands.
Hey bode, I hope those naps are not too long that you won't give us an onsite report. Who knows maybe after this storm you will have a deep trough between you and the sandbar. The old cypress tree stumps will be exposed, providing cover for flounder, pomps, whiting and redfish. Maybe you will have to buy 5 pounds of shrimp a day because there are just too many fish to catch. Maybe you will be the mule for you nephew and you will have to lug him around in the cart just to get back to the house because he was exhausted from catching all those fish. Ah dare to dream. In all seriousness, my brother will be down the week that you are there and staying near our road, and if there is beach structure there he will let me know and pass along the info. Safe travels
Thanks for the pep talk! Looking forward to posting, be it good news or great news, with pics, of course.
