Fishing Four Seasons Pier....Flounder Help

My teenage sons and I are coming to stay at Four Seasons in two weeks. We are planning to fish the condo pier as much as possible. Our target is anything but catfish....actually we hope to catch some flounder. I don't know what I'm doing....based on research I'm bringing a bait bucket with aerator for live bait. All other advice would be appreciated and thanks for your posts year round....I sincerely enjoy reading from up here in Tennessee.

Bull minnows Carolina rigged with about 1/2 oz egg sinker would be my choice for flounder. I'd put on a Gotcha for Spanish or Bluefish.

Do move the rig slowly or short-move/pause. Flounder are ambush feeders, not seekers of prey.

I'd be glad to 'show you the ropes' about flounder, trout, spanish & whatever @ no charge if you get me on there with you ;-)

We always seem to do better with bubbles for spanish off the Four Seasons pier

We always did real well on bubbles at Fours Seasons too. I've also caught several spanish on 1/2 oz cotton cordell silver spoons. I would retrieve them really fast where they were skipping on top of the water.

Flounder have been slow at four seasons but bull minnows and jigs with white gulp. Bubble rigs will do better than anything to just catch fish. Lady fish, Spanish , and sometimes a rare Red Fish if you slow it down if you see one following .For some reason red works the best there. Also always have some fresh ( not frozen) eating shrimp. This will also usually create a bite. If you se some red fish in the area pin fish sides work really well.
Fish bites seem to catch the pompano. Small pieces of shrimp for whiting close in to shore this time of year. It is shallow there now so watch for the troughs. I always catch fish there and have a great time.
