Fishing spots

I realized this weekend that well im getting so that I dont like dealing with the crowds at the pier.so I am here to ask if anyone can point me in the direction of anyother good places in the gulfshores/orange beach area.I am rather fond of the perdido pass bridge and although I like the jetties(I maybe jetty fishing the wrong way)I have never had any luck there.as for places to fish I dont mind a good walk as long as the fish are there to catch.if anyone can help me but dont want to post it just pm me and as far as helping me I could meet up with someone and fish with them next time im down(bait and lunch on me)and i dont care if it kayak fishing,surf fishing or what just like to fish.

Hello, gnomepunter. I am a fan of Perdido Pass, also. What I really enjoy, tho, is surf fishing. Whenever we are at the Best Place There Ever Was, meaning the Alabama Gulf Coast, we fish out toward Ft. Morgan, west of Gulf Shores. Try Grant St., the last road to the left before you enter the fort. Depending on what time of year you are fishing, there are whiting, Pompano, flounder, redfish, sharks, drum, the ubiquitous catfish and many other fun fish. The road has gotten rough, but we manage it in a Camry. Bait can be gotten at the marina on the right, about 6 or so miles from Grant street. There is also good spots at the fort on the bayside. Check it out if you get the chance, and smooth drags.

+1 on fort morgan out on the point where they bay meets the ocean there is some great bull and slot red fishing. but another spot i would try is little lagoon down west beach you can fish for mangrove snapper, flounder, speckled trout, and redfish. you will have to get wet though,(wading) there is a sea wall that you can fish or you can go to the lagoon part and fish those deeper holes for flounder. i would use a carolina rig with a 1 ounce lead 15 pound barrell swivel 15 pound floro for your leader with a size 4 khale hook. bull minnows, finger mullet,and pogys are great bait for fishing there you can also use shrimp to. you dont need a heavy setup just a light to med spinning combo.

Given that it is past Labor Day, the pier should not be that crowded. Given the Spanish mac bite, that would be my first stop.

If you dive the jetties a few times, you will findout where the mangrove snapper like to hang and it helps a lot! most the fish will be on the end of the jetties!
