Hey everyone headed down next weekend and just wondering if some flounder are still hanging close to the beach line, or have they headed back out?
Plan on doing doing as much shore fishing as we can this year.

What Tom said is consistent with my own observations and reports from others, and typical for this time of year.
New research on flounder is showing most but not all females move into the estuaries during the summer.
The majority that are left in the Gulf are males which are likely never to reach the 14 inch minimum creel size.
Flounder numbers in Little Lagoon are much better this year. I have only caught 2 or 3 undersized ones and over 20 keepers. Most are 16-19 inches. Almost all have been caught off my dock which is really nice. If I need fish for dinner, I just go out on my dock with a 3" shrimp gulp and can usually catch one. I've been catching them since March and most recently yesterday. I only catch one as I like them best fresh.
