Yes. If you search the term "flounder" on the home page you'll find plenty of answers to your question. Been discussed several times and you'll find some great advice.
Nope no flounder at the pier dont even waste ur time. Better fish for spanish. :poke1: :poke1:
carolina rig, with 1oz slip weight and flouro leader,Kahle hook(1or2 /0) bull minnow or spanish belly strip right under the pier just walk it slowly from pylon to pylon , then the next and so on with a slight jigging action moving the weight a little then slack so the bait goes back under the pier with the current some
at least that's how I have done it in the past
should have a drop net too, so you can get them up sometimes they will short strike it and not hooked to good for the trip up with out a net
1oz weight and live shrimp
Only thing ur gonna do with a live shrimp during the summer is have some expensive pinfish food. Use bull minnows like ironman said
I'm talkin bout now
Ok. But the original question stated "during the summer months".

What does the actual topic have to do with anything these days? Reading and reviewing before posting has become optional for one segment of the membership. ::)
As to OP's question: Besides bull minners, a 3" Gulp Shrimp will mitigate the pin fish problem down to almost zero.

that's what friend over in Pensacola bay would use on a small jig head casted out and reeled in slow along the shallow bottom..... I guess with out the jig head might work....I have never tried it and at 20 for the jar of gulf shrimp....who knows :boohoo:....I guess drop the carolina part and just flip the jig and gulp shrimp und er and work it would be good
3/16 - 3/8 oz red jig head on flouro leader. Size depending on wind/current. Bump it slowly.
