What have you been using for bait? I do very well with live shrimp for just about everything. It's my go-to and everything from reds to bigger whiting to specks, pomp, and flounder eat it and sometimes just pound it. Sometimes get live minnows too. I also try using sand fleas and ghost shrimp if they are nearby. And of course fresh dead shrimp and orange Fishbites. I keep it simple with lures: spoons and gulp shrimp (2" hollow whites, pretty much any color in the std but usually have new penny). Sometimes I'll use a topwater early if it's flat. If I start filling the cooler early (or run out of shrimp) I'll switch to the gulp skrimps.
Ft morgan marina usually has plenty of live shrimp (call first). If they don't I stop and get a few dozen on my way in. Well worth it...except for bad weather I've never gotten skunked on live shrimp and have almost always gotten plenty of decent sized whiting and an assortment of the other usual suspects for a fish fry.
I'll be down the 10th and while I've mainly given up on night fishing most nights (cause I'm getting old, and tired) we're going to try gigging in the surf if the conditions are decent one night/early morn.
