fresh water shad

I have used small threadfin that had been frozen in fresh water for trout below Table Rock dam. They would eat them. I do think the salt would toughen them up a bit.

Hmmmm shad huh? I net em by the dozens when I cadtjng for strioer/fresh water drum bait at Walter Bouldin dam. From small to almost filleting size.

Yes, years ago, as described above. Thaw them the night before in a heavy brine to toughen them up.
