Ft Morgan fishing?
Coming down o Nov. 9th for a few days and staying out in Ft. Morgan. Have fished the Orange beach/Gulf Shores area a number of times. Will surf, pier, and do some wade fishing if possible. Good bait is so important. Is there any kind of bait shop out there? Thinking of bringing a cast net and making a ghost shrimp pump. That might make me the only person in Nebraska with both of those. This forum has been so great in the past! Thanks for any help in catching some fish. Still haven't caught a pompano yet!!!

Redfish bite should be hot over there that time of year.

Fort Morgan Marina had frozen bait last time I was there, but I don't think they've had live bait for years. (I could be wrong, I'm not regularly there)

Will it be the right time to get ghost shrimp? What is an inexpensive one I could buy or I've been looking at you tube videos to make one. Has to fit in a check in bag. Wife hates me because I always need a check in bag for my fishing stuff. Is there any need for the cast net?

Think I'll just make a pump for the ghost shrimp since there doesn't seem to be an option to buy an inexpensive one when I get down there. Will be giving some reports starting on the 9th of Nov. I'm so jealous of all the fishing you have. Go Fish!!

I don’t know what you consider expensive or what they cost but I saw some in a couple of tackle stores when I was down in July.

J&M Tackle in Orange beach usually has them but I don't know the price. Also Hooked Up Tackle at the south end of of the canal bridge in Gulf Shores is a good place. My guess at a price is $25, but that's just a guess. Everything has gone up.
Good places to suck shrimp are at the lagoon pass west of Gulf Shores and at the pier. You will need shallow water and calm seas, or a north wind. It's hard to get them in more than 2 ft. of water. Best of luck to you.
Oh, yes, bring some Ibuprofen for your aching back from catching ghost shrimp.

thanks I'll give them a call

Give Billy’s seafood a call they usually have fresh mullet. They sell them by the pound. Good place to get some fresh fish for dinner. I go there after fishing and get some fresh mullet for the next morning.
Great place - Closes at 5 Pm -
