Ghost Shrimp

Is anyone having any luck finding ghost shrimp? I've been looking to slurp some but can't seem to find any...

I managed to find a few today.

Is is better to look for them in the surf, or further inland?

Ghost shrimp only live below mean high tide, so looking inland wont help. That is why you need a low tide to find them. Last night about 1:30 am would have been ideal!

If you are looking in the swash zone at high tide, you are too far up on the beach. Mind find sand fleas there, but not ghost shrimp.

Built two slurp guns yesterday...guy at the local Ace hardware looked at me like I was crazy when I tried explaining to him what they were used for...May be a stupid question but if we do manage to catch some do I need to keep them in my aeroated bait bucket? I watched a couple of youtube vids where they were just putting them in a belt mounted bait tray
