Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations if a man wanted to go out at night and try gigging in the lagoon or the bay?? Seems like I would enjoy that. Is it worth trying??

I recommend guide night shift. He gigs flounder. Outstanding trip
If you want to gig fluke, you will have quite a long drive, I think they only come as far south as Delaware, maybe Maryland??
But we do have southern and Gulf Flounder here, which are readily gigged in calm clear water at night. I've only done it a couple of times but its fun. Just don't step on a stingray.
You will need a gig, a good light and a bag, stringer or floating cooler for the fish. And remember the size limit (12") still applies. So be a good judge of length before you stick.
Pardon my ignorance Carl. That would be a little bit of a drive though. From what I read fluke move up in the summer. Don't know why, didn't ask. Never caught or even seen one in real life. But I do know is like to gig a flat fish that looks like a flounder/fluke/halibut style fish when I'm on vacation that tastes really good. 😄 thanks for the education and laugh.
That halibut may need a plane ticket and some insurance...can't even imagine the fuss he would cause when you tickle him with a gig!!! LOL
