John is spot-on. I swap my expensive and frustrating-to-patch poly tires for rubber ones when I hit the pier. That's a great deal on that cart though and I'm going to have me a Robo-Cup for my morning beach coffee, my cup always spills when I leave it in the cart's bait bucket and then I'm grumpy all morning.

Yeah I will use it on the beach the most. With a wife and two kids I'm gonna pack chairs, umbrellas, food and such so daddy doesn't have to kill himself getting all the gear to the beach each morning. That will be nice. I do think it will work fine at the pier though. Heck we will probably use it here for baseball games and other stuff we do with our kids.

Go by Harbor Freight and get a pneumatic swivel tire for the front ($13.00). I found a couple of right angle corner braces that lined up with the holes on the caster and bolted it on my cart that way. You will thank me if you do this. Another redneck customizing touch I did on mine was get some 1" mesh galvanized hardware cloth (Lowe's) and lined the sides and bottom to keep little stuff from falling out---fastened it on with zip ties and I no longer leave a trail of tackle behind me. Adds very little weight and is easy to cut to size.

5"? Went be the one here and 8" was the smallest they had

Don't have a measure on it---it may be 8" from the bottom of the tire to the top of the caster. My cart is jacked up just a tad in front, but not enough to disturb my nap or spill the water out of my bait bucket.

Check Tractor Supply for their wheel selection. I've bought cart modding stuff from them that I couldn't find elsewhere.

Need to go there for dog food, anyway.

I also did this with racecar body. Its a soft plastic that's cheap and sold by the foot. I just cut it to fit and drilled holes for the nuts that hold the axle on. The sides were held on by zip ties but I had another project for them this winter. Now I gotta stop by and pick up another 3 ft of body.
