Your bass tackle should work fine from the beach with this brisk north wind but that will change in another day or two as it may get a little rough.
But just get some 1/2 to 3/4 ounce spoons and jigs (maybe a 'bubble rig') and you can catch an assortment of jacks especially early and late in the day.
You can throw a 3/8 ounce jighead with a 3" New Penny Gulp shrimp and catch a variety of bottom dwellers like whiting, groundmullet, flounder and redfish.
Or you can catch the same with pieces of fresh shrimp on a 'carolina rig' with a 3/4 ounce egg sinker.
If the gulf gets too rough for you to fish from the beach, the pier offers an excellent venue to get you above and beyond the breakers to those same fish and more.
A liesurely walk up and down the pier with your new bride should entertain and enlighten you about the fishing possibilities there.
It's the best $2 a fisherman can spend while in Gulf Shores ;-)
Happy honeymoon and welcome to the forum!
*Thanks for the plugs guys*
