That was tried back in 2011 or 12 and it lasted about two months.
That stink would bring you to your knees, especially from the big dumpster in the parking lot. We pray that we don't get a north breeze.
Brilliant. All the folks bright enough to use common sense left for other states?
History repeats itself
If we had a giant walk in cooler to store said guts.....
A handful of years ago I tossed a fish carcass in a trash bin the night before trash went out. Despite only being in there half a day, you could smell the ripeness of that trash can from the next neighborhood over.
On the upside, the large population of flies attracted by the carcass bin might attract more fish. Which will naturally attract more sharks. Wait, what was the purpose of the bins?
All fish carcasses should be disposed of in trashcans next to either the pierhouse or park offices, this will ensure their prompt removal.
Eh maybe people should be responsible for their own carcasses and process fish at home. LOL
Well it lasted 2 months last time....it will have to last much longer then that for my return. ...you guys have fun with the smell and I'm sure will make plenty ofroom on the rail.....maybe the ultimate goal ....less people fishing ....catching and cleaning fish might make for less sharks....I have cleaned in the condo's before....before Gulf Shores rebuild
Well, it appears there may be some miscommunication....while cleaning the morning catch, Tam went to throw the first carcass in the trash can and was immediately instructed by one of the cart riding staff to chunk the carcass over the rail. When she questioned the written instruction.....he said that the sign did not mean what it said.
Again - Here's your sign.
And PS. They erected orange cones over the most broken of the deck planks this morning but not before a young lass took a nose dive after tripping on a raised plank near the tee.
Sounds like the pier staff aren't in agreement with management's poorly thought out plans.
I was thinking to myself last week about how far they've let the decking go.
It so far gone they might be better off having entire new sections built, rather than going at it piecemeal restoration like they've been.
One good injury and someones gonna have a payday due to the conditions, no problem showing overall negligence in preventive maintenance.
Sounds like a shortsighted management issue. As if they are stupid enough or complacent enough to get sued and pay a huge settlement and legal fees rather than take the initiative to solve the problem. This isn't unique to the pier either. A lot of government agencies operate this way.
Put all the carcusses in the trash cans if the sign says too....the workers don't want to empty them so they tell you different.....something needs to come to a head, and following the written sign , should be done....
summer is here plus the summer crowds almost....the smell will bring more complaints then the shark issue....maybe then the harvesting might be allowed, instead of looking at the cleaning stations
