Inspecting Rods
When you guys are buying used rods, what do you usually do to inspect them before buying? I found a deal on two rods for kings fishing that should last me through this summer until I can purchase some better quality ones. Just wondering how you guys would inspect a used rod before purchase when its used. I think we can all assume that they would be fine when they are new.

Does the price seem too good to be true, could be hidden damage or stolen?
Buy from someone you know or that has a good rep backed up by others.
Overall condition/appearance of rod
Is the finish clear/even, no discoloration, cracks and/or flaking
Reel seat & threads, opens closes all the way, no binding or damaged threads
Guides, no nicks, cuts, missing inserts or mismatch replacements
Any freshly re-wrapped areas hiding damage or shortened tip from breakage
Any nicks or indentations on rod which could be signs of abuse, weaken the rod... Was it slammed in a door or hit by the ceiling fan?
