I did the same thing- started making small purchases after the last trip, and watched for sales on the items I need ever since. I really just need to learn to tie my own leaders. I'd rather have someone put on a clinic than learn from YouTube. I'd hate to have one of my leaders fail on a king.

Most any of the regulars would be happy to show you how. I learned from them.

Leaders and drop rigs done, a dozen 3x trebles w/ wire leaders to get us started. I bought treble protectors this year - should have done that years ago.
Made a couple dozen Lindey sinkers for the rocks on the wall, are the flounder and snapper showed up yet?
The wife wrapped a few dozen more jigs - got some football heads to try for pomps this year. Ironman - did you do any good w/ yours?
License purchased and printed. (Y'all need to make it easier to find the right site to buy..)
All reels checked, rechecked. Rods ready to go in tubes. Packing extra that are sold, or could be sold.

4 work days and a wake up. If we survive the trip through Atlanta, see y'all next Saturday!

Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.

Never tried for the pomps, and never heard from sandflea if the 4 I gave him did any good?
Safe travels in your trip to and from and hope you fill the cooler to take back home....enjoy your trip

I started tying, pouring jigs, redoing the trolley anchors, need to get started on a power rod wrapper since I didn't come home with one.....as my bride said (I'll make one better then I could buy) ....I was thinking about not coming this fall.....but that has changed.....last 2 weeks of October, right after shrimp fest,I can do without crowds, unless with fishing rod in hand

I know of only one flounder caught this week at the Perdido pass wall. Also the pier fishing on Ole river was a bust. However I did catch a couple of dozen big fat crabs.
