actually i caught a pretty big bermuda chub off the pier last year and it was surprisingly good. the meat looked like bluefish and tasted like bluefish to.
get the gaff!!!

Bermuda Chub: so I did some searching, just about every thread starts out:
"can you eat them?"
Followed by gross, yuck, no way, etc..., and all sorts of similar posts until you get to one where someone has actually caught, cleaned and fried one up. That person universally says they taste fine, like most other reef fish.Carl

Watch out for 'leather jackets'. I took one off my hook last spring and my hand was sore and stinging for 2 hours.

Could I use a Boga grip on them and avoid some pain and embarrassment?

I favor using a stout stick on them before attempting any kind of grasp. Not only is their sting more painful than an IRS audit, they have an anti-coagulant in their slime and the wound will bleed much longer than is reasonable
