Thread: Cannon ball jellyfish

Anyone know where to get these inshore or are they more of an open water creature?

I wish I could help as I will be down on the 7th-9th next month and could use a few strips off of em myself.

I used to mostly see them within a few miles of the beach. Now, most of them are being netted and sent to Asia.

Availability of cannonball jellyfish (aka cabbagehead) in this region is wildly variable.
They were almost predictably abundant in the 1970s and 80s, but I never seen anywhere near the numbers since.
Some years pass, and I never see any at the GSPPier.
Coincidentally, the moon jelly has been MUCH more prevalent during this period...

Is the body of the Moon Jelly firm enough to stay on a small hook?
