Be safe in the surf.
Lots of riptides and strong current this time of year. Talking with the OBA fire department, they had 16 rescues of people being swept out. I believe dirt Morgan had a fatality. Be careful out there surf fishing and wading. Watch the currents, no fish is worth your life.

There still looking for a young man that got swept out in fort Morgan yesterday. Sad stuff, I think we lost four or five people last year to drownings.

If caught in a riptide, don’t panic , swim parallel to shoreline til you escape. This really works. If you swim against it you will tire and be pulled further from the shore til you can’t fight/swim anymore. Like they said , no fish is worth that. There aren’t any riptides on the pier. Be safe people!!
