Has all this fresh water sent the kings North?
Huh?????
North?
The old timers say they used to migrate up the Alabama River before all them damn dams got built.
But I think its just old fishermans tales.
We all know a smoker king could easily jump a little ole dam and keep right on going.
IMO, it was the netters in the rivers that drove the freshwater migratory kings extinct...
When I saw the thread title, and knew the fishing lately, my first thought was that this was about the POTUS :)
Maybe he's asking if kings are coming closer to shore (north, from their previous positon)? That's my guess.
Either way, this thread went south...
I'm pretty sure it's still legal to net mackerel in the Black Warrior River, but I think the Red Snapper season there runs the same as the Federal season in the Gulf. It is, however, illegal to take speckled trout with any handheld explosive device or to take, or attempt to take redfish with any caliber smaller than .225.
I'm not sure about this information, but the fellow who told me about them a long time ago bet me the rest of the case that he had on Ice out in the truck that they were bible-true. He and his truck were gone the next morning, so I never bothered researching the veracity of his statements.
Several have went north the last couple days,in coolers...
Quite possible.
Not sure what the tons of rainwater falling in the gulf will do (hope it kills the hot jellies).
But fer sure the clouds and relatively cooler temperatures have cooled the water temp off 4-5 degrees inshore.
And wah-lah a few kings showed up yesterday...
