What all are they doing to the pass?
Just a new bridge or will they be widening it?
I think there used to be a pedestrian bridge. Will they replace it?
Do you think it will affect fishing in Little Lagoon in the coming months?
Just getting some thoughts before we come down in Sept.
We are staying on the lagoon for the first time (normally stay Gulf side)

I haven't fished there since the construction began. There wasn't a pedestrian bridge there before and I don't know about a future one being added.

The pedestrian bridge was taken out many years ago.
The new bridge will be wider (and a little higher off the water).
The pass (south of the bridge) will be wider (twice).

Yes, this should affect fishing.
In the short term (next 18 months) mainly it affects the fishermen.
Long term??
Maybe it will allow more water in and out of the pass helping make the lagoon a richer estuarian environment?

Sounds like it will be a nice project.
We are staying at Sea Oats in Sept and I hope to do some good fishing on the lagoon.

Once they are in place the old seawall will be removed.
Hopefully this wider pass will be remain open and deeper than the current situation.
The flounder fishing should be alias once they widen it. I have caught some door mats in the channel before, can only imagine how it's going to be once there is more flow through there.
I hope the sea wall runs out like it used to when we used to jump off the over pass it was deep
Kayaked through the pass the yesterday..... (broke a rod while I was at it...rogue wave on the bar but anyways.....;-) ) and the water visibility outside of the breakers really cloudy with a mix of sargassum weed, trolled a yo-yo around but nothing :/ but it was a really happening place even though all of the construction is going on. They have portipoddies for the public, you can surf fish and fish the channel, just can't fish anywhere off of the seawall because of the construction. Flounder just stack up in that pass and so the the mangroves and reds!! even on the lagoon side, use bull minnows or net caught small croaker and finger mullet .
