Pompanos and a Nice Redfish
Long time reader but never post. Just getting into surf fishing and have learned a lot reading and using the search feature here. Went down to Orange Beach just east of Perdido pass. Caught two pompano (first ever) and caught a nice sized redfish which put up a helluva fight. Also my fish redfish. There was a lot of stingrays in the water and one shark came cruising by about 9am this morning. Anyway thanks for being a great source of info.

Welcome to the forum Todd

Nice fish, the Pomps are a blast and great eating.
As are the Reds, a big Bull like that makes an awesome chowder.
Search the Recipes subforum for Haywire's Redfish Chowder recipe, mmmm mmm good.
A great place to post future surf reports.
