Lense color for sight fishing
My eyes aren't what they used to be so it looks like I am going to have to go to clip on sunglasses or flip-ups. Doing a little research on lense colors. From what I have read so far, green mirror or copper seems to be best for shallow water. I fish the shallows at the pier 99% of the time. I have blue mirror Costa Readers right now, but I am reading that blue mirror is better for deep water. I have a new pair of prescription glasses ordered and I am getting the Transitions for the first time. Has anyone had experience with clip ons over Transitions? I would think the clip ons would block enough light to prevent the Transitions from turning dark. If you have experience with these please steer me in the right direction. Thanks!

Try cocoons fit over your regular glasses.(but go try before you buy "for fit" if you go that route)....what I liked till my cataract surgery, and got me some new eyes

Cabelas was the best price I found .....own 3 pairs, and back to my 10 year old costas plus bought a few more.....not sure if J&M carries them.....worth a try
cocoonseyewear.com
They also have flipups too ......mine are somewhereBill..............

Strike King Bill Dance (discontinued).
Bass Pro had some Cocoon brand for $19.99 but they are also discontinued :-(
But they are still around, you just have to look.
Walmart maybe?

I can't speak much for the pier, but in the surf I am able to cut glare on the water and get much better depth with my amber/copper costas than any darker lense I've tried. That said, the more light sensitive my eyes get, I wish I had a darker pair for mid day...
