Does anyone label their rods/reels to identify the type/strength of line spooled on the reel? If so how and where, getting older and with multiple reels can't remember which has what. Looking for something weather proof.

I use a sharpie marker to write the # test under the spool in a place that will not rub off.
Been doing that for 35 years ;-)
I just use a label maker (white with black letters) and put the label on the outside of the spool. Haven't had any problems with it coming off, I can see it easily, and the label is easy to change if I respool with a different poundage line.
I use a Sharpie silver metallic on dark color reels and black on lite ones so l can read it.
It's easily removed with a mild solvent,I use Gunscrubber,it drys fast leaving no residue.
Mark the lb.and date on the reels foot so it can't be rubbed off.
I like the label maker idea may have to give it a try.

I just do my best to remember what I put on. My memory is like a steel trap---rusty and illegal in 26 states.
I use the same size line on like size reels, i buy line in bulk, light reels get 6lb, medium 12lb, and heavy is either 20lb mono or 30lb braid, lot easier to remember that way
I keep a spread sheet listing all my rods, reels and line sizes/brands.
Then I commit it to memory.
I am going to print it out and put in my tackle bag if I can ever remember to do it.
