I while back I bought a couple of Bomber "saltwater grade" jointed magnum Long A's for trolling from the kayak. Well, the kayak was sold and now I'm wondering if these can be fished from the pier? They're pretty big for a lure, like 7". Anyone fished these or are they overkill on size?
Snake I wouldn't think they would be to big. A big sardine is probably seven inches long. I've caught kings on big hardtails that were that long. Keychain spanish up to about 10 or 11 inches are good to snoble with IMO. Give em a try. They could be just what they want at some time.

I fish the 9" sebile and it works great from the pier. I like the fast sinking version personally, but the slow sinking work works good for days without much wind.
Thanks guys for the input. I tied it on earlier and casted it several times getting a feel for it. I'm just used to throwing smaller stuff.
I was on the octi in May of 2012 mid day when no one snobbling cigs or drowning ly's were catching anything. Some guy walks up with a 6" bomber windcheater and catches a 37lb king on his second cast.Quote:
