Is a Mitchell 306 a good reel for pier fishing
I have seen a lot of them used on the piers in Florida. The bail assembly on old Mitchells are not very good IMO. Other than that, I can't recall anyone giving them any negative marks. It would be safe to assume it is a good pier reel when fitted with a manual roller.
Yes they are very good i use 12 or 14lb line. As said earlier the bail is not great ,convert to a manuel and alls good. The biggest negative is the spool is weak but if you bust one the fisherman has plenty. :headbang:
.s. Just noticed your handle, nice
