hey guys im headed down next month and really looking forward to doing some pier fishing i love it. any advice for a semi newb lol would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Yep , too much to cover... what do you want to start with....? Read the top 2nd and 3rd topics in this section, and when all else fails, go to J&M Tackle and ask questions, buy gear..... the King bite should be on, so you will want to fish for Kings, ask about the right tackle, Then watch the guys fish and ask, ask, ask questions.
Thats the best general advice I can give.... ask anything specific, someone will answer.

thanks im really wanting to catch a cobia and some flounder any suggestions on those?

Likely you'll have to put in some time for eaither of those.

ling: try a live LY on bottom about 1/2 way beyween the two ocatgons.

flounder: drag bull minnows (or a jig & strip) on bottom under the pier around the middle octagon and back toward the beach.
