Thread: What to expect?

My family will be coming down for spring break the first week in April and I'm planning on doing some pier fishing with my son and his friend. I have some cat fishing rigs which should be fine and plan to stop by j&m to get what tackle we need but am wondering what can we expect to catch this time of year and what tide is best fishing off the pier thanks in advance.

It has been thoroughly circulated on this site. Neap/slack tide usually means a less robust and enthusiastic bite. Check previous dated reports to get an idea, generally, of what to expect and see the current daily reports about what's being caught (once the tropical storm has moved on and conditions stabilize) presently.

I tend to ignore the tide when I fish the pier. I just plan to get there before daylight and stay until I get too tired to stand at the rail.
