Gulf Council Recommends Reduction In Cobia Limits
I have no idea why the first thread Gulf Council Recommends Reduction In Cobia Limits
has been closed????
In my view the Gulf Council's action is far too little and far too late.
AND, they need to outlaw the use of FAD's.
I like Allen529's idea of a 5 yr. moratorium on Cobia harvest gulf wide. That and some help by our hatchery system might have a chance for success.Beware the power of fools in large numbers

I agree,…who has the say in closing a thread? ,…and more importantly,..why?
That aside, it’s refreshing to see the actual fisherman, who actually catch the fish, actually want to limit the catching of a fish,…so they can catch more of the fish. Now that’s a prudent, logical, and mature way of viewing the problem. I also agree that commercial catch and the tournament folks need to feel the pinch too. But the sentiments expressed here thus far are a breath of fresh air. And who says the fishermen don’t like gubmit intrusion?,… Sometimes it comes down to common sense. And when the gubmit uses it as in this case,…I’ll be the first to get onboard. I’d like my shot at a big cobia one day just like others have said,….but I don’t want it to be my/the last.

Thank you David. Good advice. Will do.
My focus was marginally about the mechanics of the thread but mainly happy about the way that the fisherman can sometimes come together to further the sport. Now if we can get some real time fisherman pressure on the “powers that be” to address the shark problem.
Can I get a Hallelujah?
on that one,…heck yea.
