Hey all, just a couple of questions. Headed out tomorrow on the boat and being new to it was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to go and what to use for bait???? Not looking to head out past 5 to 7 miles, boat is pretty small. We want to troll some and bottom fish some. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Troll to the SE with some duster & cigar minnows for kings and some plugs (Stretch or at least a big Yozurri).
Look for diving birds and investigate if you do.
Have some jigs, spoons or plugs ready to cast to them on medium spinning tackle.
You really shouldn't have to venture out more than a few miles this time of year.
The water is clear and the fish (I've heard) are in close.
it may get a bit bumpy... :-\

#er nailed it. Bull Reds and Kings will hit the pink stretch 25. If you're set on bottom fishing, try the rigs off of Ft.Morgan, I'm sure there's some Red Snapper there for catch n release. The fairwell buoy out of P Pass usually holds bait and a good bit of sharks. I'm sure Kings are around there too.

I fish 3 mile bar and the allen we kill alot of fish on the allen ship i go there its just a little further than u wanna go few more miles won't hurt
Hey Dee just go out in front of the pier real close and troll back and fourth a couple of times bet you get a tug on your lines :banana:

One of the all-time best fish catching lures is a Drone spoon on a planer. Lots of the inshore charter boats don't troll anything else. It'll catch kings, reds and anything else you run across. There have been lots of snapper caught on them trolling across wrecks and artificial reefs, along with amberjacks and crevalle. I'd put out at least one.
