Thread: One Rod Rule

I think ya'll have it right. Be courteous and a sportsman if it gets crowded. That being said. I thought the rule was one bait rod and one fishing rod= 2! When did this change? Just askin'...

There is such a thing as a single line trolley, but the weights are expensive and that makes for a lot of tackle to lose to a shark.

Single line trolley consists of a weight on the end of your line and a hook & leader on a snap swivel with a float. The swivel is snapped to your line after you cast out the weight then slides down to your weight after a fish is on. You cannot set the hook until the swivel hits the weight. The weight interferes with fighting the fish, too.

Not nearly as effective as a double line rig, and like I said, expensive when a shark eats it.

Only one that hooks and catches fish, usually used when conditions aren't to angler friendly windy , & strong current when most if any are fishing the other side or not at all

Thanks to all for the clarification. I’ll be down 11-15 Feb for a reprieve of the cold rainforest formerly called North Georgia with three old Army pals. Looking forward to a week of fishing and salt air.
