Penn 713
Hey anyone fished with a Penn 713 Greenie? I'm thinking about getting one off of ebay. The line capacity seems good for spanish and inshore species ( 200 yds of 10 lb) but I just dont want to buy an older reel and it get too much pressure from saltwater inshore fish haha.
PS. Also any opinions on the Mitchell 300 vintage reel?
Thanks.

It will be fine, I have caught a ton of Spanish off my 712 greenie.

Awesome, is 35.00 a reasonable price? its in fair condition. Also, what would you say to get between a Garcia 300 or Penn 713 Greenie?

I use 712's for all the inshore stuff, reds, flounder, specks... haven't caught spanish with them yet, but wouldn't be afraid to try. usually use my 710's (with aluminum spool, not bakelite) for spanish.

Yeah thats what I'd do and i just dont trust if a big spanish would run and these older reels' spools might bust and not hold up haha
