Is the Penn 722Z ok for plug chunking ?
I got a lead on a really nice 722Z. Is it big enough to handle bubble rigs and gotchas for Spanish Blues and slot reds?
Good times, Good friends, Great Beer. You can buy all three - But it's always better to invest the time to make your own.

Barely, a bit 'ole skool' but it has a decent line capacity (150 yds/8# mono), decent retrieve (5:1) and features stainless steel shaft, line roller and bearings.
You could go up to 12# mono, but likely won't get but about 110 yards on it.

An antireverse system that hasn't a clue of the words silent or instant, along with a mechanical only bail release, screams "fully archaic" not "a bit old school".

It's perfectly okay man. As long as you have strong Penn 722Z you're good to go for fishing with plug chunking.
